Der Münchener Priavtsender lässt offen, ob die Ausstrahlung der zweiten Staffel folgen wird. Ausschlaggebend für die Entscheidung sind die Einschaltquoten der ersten 8 Episoden.

Hi Helloween and welcome back. Keep your fingers crossed that Phil will be back on screen in Germany soon. They can't just show one series and not the other. |

I think the germans cannot handle that kind of series! It´s a shame!
But I really hope, they will show it after all! |
Hey, I seriously doubt, it's the Germans, that can't handle that kind of series. I'm pretty sure, it's simply the broadcasting companies, that can't handle this kind of series!
Tell me, how many friends do you have, who stay at home on Saturday evenings to watch something on a channel, that is famous for repeat no. 162 of "King of Queens"? At the same time when "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (the German version of Pop Idol) is on RTL (the most popular private channel)?
I guess, I only didn't miss it, because I have that awful habit of needing a running tv-set next to me all day. .
And I really can't believe that ARD or ZDF never tried to get this masterpiece of British tv. That's where it belonged too.
The only thing, I think, that Germans really have a problem with, are original versions. Since The first German tv channel had been established after the war, we only had German dubbed versions on tv. Original versions with subtitles are absolutely rare, usually you get them late night on the more intellectual channels like 3sat or arte.
As George Hinchliffe said last year in Berlin"...German people speak better English than we speak English..."
Well, that's maybe a bit exaggerated, but it's at least true, that many Germans speak English, especially the younger generations, but they don't trust their ability to use this language. I even met people, who speak English fluently, but are afraid of watching English movies with subtitles.
Sorry, now it has become a rant about German dubbing, although I only wanted to say, that kabel1 has meanwhile officially announced, that currently there are no plans to broadcast series 2 at all. Which is so much worse than a German dubbed version. |

I wish Helloween would come back she was fantastic, really nice. Always had something nice to say about Phil and really filled this site.
Sh must have been the only German who really appreciated LOM and Phil. _________________ I must be my legendary prowess as a lover... |

That's not really nice. There are still German fans over here, who do appreciate it, although they get zero new input from our local media.
Just imagine, they are sitting there, waiting for series 2, getting their hope squashed, that there will ever be any LoM or A2A on German screens again and they still meet on a daily basis to discuss it. Wouldn't you say, those people really appreciate it? |

It's such a shame we lost Helloween but she was the only German on here
and must have felt a bit lonely. |
